SCHOOLS REDEFINED; UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL

Hello Folks!

Have you ever wondered what our children think about schools and the education being imparted there? So today, I will share with you some eye-openers regarding redefining schools. An up-close personal encounter with children. Let’s start.

Firstly, according to children schools are a form of child-labor and fits into the category perfectly.

See according to the definition; The term “child labor” refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity.

And it refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, is harmful to physical and mental development.

It refers to work that: is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous and harmful to children.

Secondly, children are exploited in schools and even online either by the bullying of some fellow students and even by teachers who take out their frustration on the child attending the class.

Thirdly, children are deprived of their childhood as school timings are from early morning till late in the evening. A child spends his or her maximum time in school where he/she might learn a new concept or might not understand it at all.

All this results in more labor and hard work when children are going to tuition centers for clarity of the stuff the school was meant to provide.

The burden of homework, uncleared concepts, and projects create a lot of conflict in the minds of young kids who feel stranded with bonded labor not able to enjoy family interaction or functions. And even attend their funeral.

Fourthly, studies show that about 83 percent of children suffer stress due to school.

Fifthly, the syllabus that is been taught for ages does not apply to practical life. It’s all theory. Modern-day requires modern-day techniques and approach. Old and rotten syllabus won’t help them excel in life.

Those minds that are creative and agents of change are lying wasted and the new batch getting ready is aiming towards a wasteful future with the old and rotten syllabus along with the rotten minds running the helm of affairs.

Sixth, for children schools, now are preparation for hell. A place where they are trained to bifurcate between high and low in the name of classes.

Principles wrapped in a golden box of lies, staining the minds with rules and discipline to be found nowhere except their own torn selves.

Unable to find the righteous path with so many multifaceted faces. Strangled between their own judgment and the realities of life.

In the end, I would say that our systems are in dire need of a change.

To our children, the school systems or any other educational system, are a warehouse of continuous depression and work. We, as agents of change, need to think about young agents of change.

We are standing at a very crucial stage. Think about it. Until next time, stay safe and healthy.

Happy thinking!

MAJOR CONCERNS OF WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES IN PAKISTAN

Hello Folks!

What kind of feelings do you have, when one of your body parts cannot move due to no circulation? Yes, you are right. We feel desperate, dependent, and weak.

Today, I aim to talk about the major concerns women having disabilities face. So let’s start.

Disability is a limitation in physical or mental function caused by one or more health conditions. They are the limitations in usual, daily activities due to chronic conditions.

The first major concern of women with disabilities in Pakistan is the difficulty to coop with the role of a nurturer, wife, mothers, homemakers, and partners.

They are more likely to never marry or marry later and become divorced. They walk into abusive relationships because they cannot survive economically on their own.

The second major concern of women with difficulties in Pakistan is their access to Education. The discrimination is two-prolonged as it is special and secondly it is inaccessible.

Mostly, educational institutions lack the basic structure of making it inclusive for all making it a challenge for women with disabilities.

The third major concern of women with disabilities in Pakistan is also witnessed in the employment sector. Brilliant minds going to waste due to the Everlong prevailing biases in the systems.

They are faced with gender biases in the rehabilitation services provided to them. Not to forget the developmental disabilities.

The fourth major concern of women with disabilities in Pakistan is seen on the poverty level. They are the poorest of the poor due to a double bind. One they are women and second they are disabled.

The fifth major concern of women with disabilities is that it is painful for them to position themselves on stands, scale, machines, examination tables, and even wheelchairs that are not inclusive friendly.

The sixth major concern of women with disabilities in Pakistan is communication barriers. For women having audible or visual impairments, essential health information is usually not available.

In a form such a Braille, large prints, audio recording, or even simplified language or an interpreter.

The seventh major concern of women with disabilities in Pakistan is attitudinal barriers.

Disability training for the medical staff and the providers is needed to assess what is best for women with disabilities.

The medical professions in most of the places presume women with disabilities to be asexual and may fail to provide essential preventive care such as Mammograms, pap smear, and the screening for intimate partner violence.

And lastly, there is a dire need for medical research for women with disabilities in Pakistan. Transportation too can be a major barrier in keeping the appointments.

There are policy barriers, lack of information about how the disability affects health along with limited finances, and insufficient personal assistance.

In the end, I would like to say that we don’t lack in resources, just our strategies and policies are not in line with the priorities.

When needed, there is always some piggy bank for withdrawal available.

Changes can be seen on a small scale but the need is to get attention on a mass scale. Communities and some God-fearing organizations are working in this regard.

But they too need an extra hand and like-minded people to help them carry their cause forward.

Think about the change small efforts can bring. Until next time, stay Safe and Healthy.

LIVELIHOOD FOR WOMEN PRISONERS IN

PAKISTAN

Hello Folks!

Today, I aim at discussing means on how to improve Livelihood for women prisoners in Pakistan? So let’s start.

From the information available, it appears that women prisoners across the country have one thing in common a background of social disadvantage.

Whatever, the jail, women prisoners are the ones at the most impoverished end of the social spectrum who have led a life of social exclusion and abuse.

However, Skills Training Programs can raise the morality of women prisoners and decrease their loneliness.

Thus, increasing the odds of post-jail earning potential.

Secondly, unemployment is a predictor of criminal activity. So the skills training programs within the jail are quite handy for future stability.

Thirdly, those enrolled in education agree that access to education makes them feel worthy of themselves.

And it is the only time when they do not feel and treated like a prisoner.

Fourthly, small cottage industries need to be established for women prisoners rather than just the basic skills. The carpet weaving should be accessible to them too.

Fifthly, computer training has been added to the training menus of Pakistani Jails. However, they are taught via Word and not connected to the internet.

Those who have committed crimes using the internet are not allowed to participate in computer training.

Sixth, various trades and prison industries need to  be initiated such as; training in handicrafts, sewing, knitting, weaving, bookbinding, tailoring, dyeing, soap making, food processing, and plastic flower making, etc.,

Seventh, wage-earning schemes for women prisoners in all jails can motivate the prisoners towards productive work.

And lastly, skill training coupled with Art therapy can work wonders on the state of mind.

In the end, I would like to say that women prisoners in Pakistan too can earn a decent livelihood in the post-release scenario if the prisons have adequate funding with controlled accountability.

And programs are tailor-made. The skillful workers need to have liaised with appropriate industries for the future.

The NGOs and like-minded people who have the skills can play a positive role in this direction. Think about it.

Happy Reading. Until next time; stay safe and healthy.
