Recipe for Something to Bite on

Serves: The whole Family

Oats (barley or wheat), 2 measuring cups

Flour (all purpose) 1 cup

Dried milk powder 1/2 cup

Brown sugar 1/2 cup or so according to taste

Margarine/vegetable oil 1 bar

Almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, dried grapes, chocolate (coarsely chopped)

Firstly melt margarine and sugar in a sauce pan on a low heat without burning it. Then mix all other ingredients in a bowl. Put the melted batter onto the mixture and mix all. It will take the form of a sticky ball. Line a tin with baking or brown paper and grease it with oil. Put the batter on it and press it firmly on the tin. You can sprinkle chopped chocolate on top and put it in the hot oven for about 15 -20 minutes depending on the temperature of the oven. Make sure to check after 10 minutes. When itā€™s baked, take the tin out and make marks or cut the slices within the tin. When it is cooled completely, store it in an air tight jar .Now, you have something to bite on when you are craving for a sweet tooth or low on the energy side.

Enjoy baking.
