If you’re reading this, I’m assuming you want to be successful. I have observed, lived, and practiced through trial and error what it takes to be successful.
In the following paragraphs, I will unveil, what makes other people successful, how to set up your environment for success, and how to deal with the inevitable setbacks that happen when you’re on the road to greatness. So, let’s start.https://www.sabahataamir.com/two-faces-of-the-same-coin/
Success comes when we are contented/satisfied and happy with ourselves. This is the crux of every happy and successful person.
Success, be it in the form of material or immaterial pursuit comes when we are contented/happy with ourselves.
This happiness/contentment /satisfaction from within takes us to greater heights of success, which we have never imagined.
Success and happiness are directly related to our minds. Let me point out a few things that keep us away from being happy and achieving success.
FOCUS ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF THINGS:
Firstly, we hear this voice in our head that negates everything good that has or will come in our way.
We do not look at the bright side of things or appreciate ourselves rather we pay more importance to the voice in our head which tells us that we are not good enough.
And if we are getting this success, it’s due to so and so reason. So guys put an end to the voices in your head and start believing in yourself. It is you and you alone who can challenge the voice and get the success you have long waited for.
LET IT REVEAL:
Secondly, we have put on a mask to hide our true selves from people.
You do not have to conceal yourself to get people’s approval or attention.
You in yourself are a whole being. You just have to focus on yourself and no one else.
If you are happy with yourself, people who love and care about you would be happy in your happiness. Don’t be guilty of that. Always remember that.
TRUST YOURSELF AND YOUR ABILITIES:
Thirdly, when you encounter success, do not associate with past feelings or experiences of rejection. Accept it, say it, and own it. It is your success and you rightly deserve it. Stop undermining your abilities. We are all unique individuals in this world having our own set of skills. There is simply no comparison between two individuals.
VICTIM OF SELF PITY:
Fourthly, don’t become a victim of self-pity. It would ruin your life and make you a sorry figure in the long run. People will stop looking at what you were as a person rather they too will take you as a sorry figure, a thing that needed to be pitied upon. Maybe being unsuccessful in life won’t kill you but yes pity would.
Fifthly, be the best version of yourself. An ideal, that everybody looks up to not someone people and family start detesting. The happier we are within, the more successful we are. Success cannot be counted in numbers. It is an immeasurable quantity that needs to be felt, appreciated, and shared.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL:
Lastly, you should always remember that you are the designer of your fate. If you are happy within, you are at the top of the world with every success at your feet but if you feel ugly and not wanted inside not even a heap of gold can make you successful in life.
Shed off your skin of weakness and rejection and wear your clothes of glitter to shine and be seen in the world.
In the end, I would like to conclude that your relationship with yourself defines your relationships with the people around you.
You need to take a step forward and forgive yourself for all those times when you faced rejection and disappointment in things you so desired to have.
Whether, it was a simple approval from parents, siblings, spouses, and children. Or whether it was a job or mere appreciation.
Similarly, love yourself and others unconditionally. Don’t expect anything in return.
This will give you a lot of satisfaction and self-appraisal.
Love, success, and happiness will come back to you in the form of a reward and you in reality will find inner peace.
“Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It’s not ‘I love you for this or that reason, not ‘I love you if you love me.’ It’s love for no reason, love without an object”.
More power to you all. Until next time, stay safe and healthy.
Have you ever wondered about the feelings/fears associated with growing up children? Well, today, I will highlight some of the common issues that teenagers face at the onset of Adulthood. So let’s start.
Teens are more into fitness than ever before. However, fitness is not always a healthy choice for teens. Some problems affect their physical and mental well-being and this is what we will be discussing in the following paragraphs.
A TEEN’S MIND:
Firstly, a Teen’s mind often borders between two topics – mental health and fitness. “Teenagers are so often told to be healthy, but they’re also struggling with a lot of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues,” said Dr. Megan Moreno in an interview for U.S News about the subject of teen’s fitness phobia.
The teens’ minds can easily change their opinion of something, and this means they might start to obsess over the exercise they used to love or make themselves sick if they miss a workout too many times. They might also get trapped in a cycle of exercise addiction where they continually try to chase their personal best time or weight loss goal.
Fitness-conscious teenagers are quite a phenomenon. They are working hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle and yet, they have a phobia of their fitness. They might fear the gym, they may not be able to work out with weights or they might find themselves in a dilemma when it comes to training for an event that is coming up soon.
CONTROL OF THEIR LIVES:
Secondly, teens have a strong need to feel in control of their lives which is one of the factors that makes them fearful of being healthy. Teenagers’ psyche makes them think that if they have higher levels of exercise then they will be more focused on their weight which instead would lead to an increase in anxiety and depression.
In addition, most adolescents’ inner minds can lead them astray from what’s actually happening in reality and so on. Social media and school factors contribute a lot in this area.
ROOT CAUSE OF FITNESS PHOBIAS:
Thirdly, the reason why teens may have a phobia of fitness may lead to childhood influences, media, and peer pressure. It’s hard to know what they are most afraid of but it may be the idea that they will not be able to keep up.
It seems like fitness-conscious comes first because of the public pressure girls feel to be thin and attractive. They are constantly on social media seeing images of other women who are more fit than they are which causes them to think about their physique.
This can lead to eating disorders or body dysmorphic disorder which can be considered a form of phobia too.
The fear of being judged is an especially large factor in fitness phobias among teens. Teens have a lot to worry about already without adding more pressure on themselves with fitness goals. They know that being judgmental is part of gym culture but they might not want to be that person who people make fun of for coming in last place or running out of breath.
There is nothing wrong with feeling intimidated by the idea of exercising! Fitness has always been somewhat intimidating for most people regardless of their age, gender, or physical
Many teens are fitness conscious these days. They care about the way they look and want to make sure they are at their best. However, some teens hesitate or refuse to get fit because of phobias.
WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE INNER MIND?
Fourthly, the factors that can dictate whether or not a teen will be fit are their inner mind, their genetics, the food they eat, and if they feel pressured by society to stay fit.
All of the phobias that teens have are just the normal human fear of the unknown. This understanding is what makes it possible for teens to overcome their anxiety and be more open to trying out new things.
FINDING THE MISSING PUZZLE:
Fifthly, the phobia of fitness is not an uncommon one among teens these days. As they try to find themselves in a rapidly changing world, they are also trying to figure out who they are in this new context.
Inner minds include many factors that can contribute to a teen’s phobia of fitness such as social media and school pressures.
And Lastly, Teenagers are the most unfit generation ever. They are called Generation Fitness. And it’s because of many factors like bad lifestyle, social media, etc. But there is also a problem with their inner mindset which makes them feel they are not good enough or that they will never be able to change themselves.
The evidence of the connection between exercise and mental health strengthens with recent studies that show that adolescents who don’t exercise are more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
In the end, I would like to add that a new study has found that fitness consciousness is the number one fear of teens. It is more than twice as common as anxiety, PTSD, and depression combined. To me as a parent, a teen’s mental health is more important as mental illness is on the rise in this age group, and fitness has been linked to mental health for many reasons.https://www.sabahataamir.com/mental-health-issues-in-teen/
A recent study by the American College Counseling Association https://www.counseling.org/ shows an increase in phobias among the youth. One of the most common phobias is fitness. It may be because they don’t feel it’s an “important” enough issue to deal with, they don’t know how to begin, they think it will take too long, or they are struggling with other mental health issues.
With the advent of technology, fitness-conscious teens are more interested in their appearance rather than how they feel. The trend is becoming so popular that some physicians have termed it “gymorexia”.
This new psychological condition is an obsession with fitness and a fear of being judged by others about their appearance. As responsible parents, we need to keep a close eye on the growing teenagers and know what to do before it is too late. Think about it.
Talking about oneself can be an uphill task especially for a person like me. I will try my best to keep it simple and worth reading for my admirers of what I do and have been doing for a long time and still want to do.
I am a visual artist not through a degree but through my passion for what I love to do. It can either involve catching /capturing small butterflies through photography and vary to making and exploring vast canvasses of life and Diversity.
My whole life till now is all about experimenting and deriving happiness out of what I do. And in the process not forgetting those who have and are standing by my side no matter what.
I have a diversified Educational and Professional background but each of the areas has complimented my life, teaching me new and valuable lessons and given me a desire to move forward in life.
Art and creativity is something that comes naturally to me. I have fought my way to come this far without disobeying my parents. Eventually, when things started being in my favor, I pursued the paths, I had dreamed for, for long.
No journey is an easy journey in any field but if you have the determination of doing so, you will achieve it no matter what.
Now, let me give you a brief about my professional pursuits.
In my school days, I always preferred volunteering for charitable work. It has always given me immense pleasure to see smiles on people’s faces. That is something I picked up from my mother. She was a gem of a person. May Allah bless her soul. Ameen.
After my graduation, I started working in a small organization where I spent productive years of my life first learning the ins and outs of the organization and then applying experimental approaches for the organization to excel.
When I entered my Masters, my scope of work had changed and I looked towards more managerial-related works not to forget teaching everyday subjects to class fellows.
After the completion of my Master’s degree in English Literature and Linguistics, I was offered a place at the university to teach Novel and Research Mechanics to the Master’s level. It was a turning point in my life. I enjoyed the time thoroughly.
Anyways, I had to move on with the wishes of my parents and went in for the so-called prestigious superior services examination. I couldn’t clear the interview. The design was greater. I have no doubt. I moved forward with life.
I had the opportunity to pursue my passion and work in a gallery both as an artist and assisted the Director in programs related to “Art for Social Change”, catering to the underprivileged communities. It was a good time and gave me plenty of time to heal from the failure of the competitive exams.
While I was working there, I had the opportunity to excel further in the field of social work. I was appointed as a Gender Specialist in a co-funded project by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Punjab.
The insights I gained there in a period of 03 years changed my thinking about how organizations work in reality. I learned a lot and changed a lot both professionally and personally. That is when I ended my professional career.WHY?
I preferred family life over professional life. However, that does not mean I just sat and rusted. I invested in myself by gauging new skills and what time demanded from me.
I continued with my voluntary work, pursuing my passion simultaneously and thus building a network of like-minded people who I can say without a doubt are my true assets.
I had a bumpy ride and still do face it at times but I take a lot of motivation from my audiences and followers who read my blogs and have something to add to them. And appreciate my pieces of art.
They are all my extended family and I look towards them. As I always say it is not necessarily one can be happy by having money. There are much more ways to extract happiness from. Be it small things, gestures, and positive thinking.
And now, I am ready to embark on a new horizon of self-discovery and exploration. And in all this, I Invite, all like-minded people to come forward, share their ideas and work with me.
Have you ever encountered and experienced the thinking that goes on in the minds of men. Well, keep your fingers crossed because today, I will throw a detailed light on the complexity of relationships as well as the views from a male perspective. So. let’s start.
PORTRAYAL WITHIN THE SOCIETY:
Firstly, in a society, both men and women are portrayed in different ways. Men are often seen as strong, intelligent, and in control, while women are seen as caring, gentle, and kind. These stereotypes come from the way society has shaped the way we see each other. A man is expected to be more emotionally stable than a woman because of these stereotypical https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/stereotype expectations.
Secondly, men see women in many different ways; some see them as friends or partners while others see them as mothers or wives which can lead to very complex relationships between the two.
Men often view their girlfriends or wives in a protective role which can cause problems if they don’t do what they’re told when it comes to taking care of themselves because it can lead to frustration for both parties involved. Many men also think that they should be the breadwinner in their families.
THE COMMUNICATION FACTOR:
Thirdly, communication between men and women may seem like an easy thing to do, but it’s not always so simple. Many different scenarios can happen in the workplace, at school, or in everyday life that can result in miscommunication. Men tend not to respond well when female coworkers engage in friendly contact such as back-patting, arm patting etc.,
How a man and a woman communicate is an important factor in how they interact? The difference between the two sexes lies in the emotional space that each occupies. Women prefer to express their emotions while men prefer to hide theirs.
HOW MEN PERCEIVES WOMEN WAY OF LOOKING AT THEM?
Fourthly, some men feel that when a woman looks at them, she is challenging his masculinity and needs to be taken down a notch by being disrupted or taken control of.
Men often stare at women as a way of trying to establish dominance. Men may also use a physical approach such as touching, holding hands, hugging, or kissing on the cheek as a form of validation and approval for female attention they seek from women.
WHAT DO THEY WANT?
Fifthly, men often have a hard time understanding when their attention is wanted and when it is not. It can be frustrating for both the man who is being ignored and the woman who is being approached.
To avoid being rejected or feeling guilty, men need to be willing to take the time to understand what women’s communication styles are like. Men should also learn how they can communicate effectively with women if they want to engage in conversation.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A ROMANTIC PARTNER?
Sixthly, men have different ways of picking a partner which can be seen from their perspectives.
One way is seeing if a woman is qualified to be the mother of their kids. Another way is seeing if she suits his social status and has a compatible lifestyle according to his standards. Some men think a woman should be a great lover and take care of him well. Other men think the most important factor in dating someone is whether she respects him or not.
The male perspective on finding romantic partners varies because they all have different values and beliefs that they want in someone they date.
Men can be complicated creatures when it comes to dating, but they all have a similar goal in mind: they want someone compatible with them. Much of the time, however, men have very different ideas of what this means. They have different values and beliefs that they want in a romantic partner. It all depends on their age, location, and cultural upbringing.
Men are usually more visual than women. They are more likely to observe the outside appearance of a woman and judge her worth. Therefore, men tend to value physical attraction over other qualities when seeking a partner.
Men also tend to think about their partners in terms of how they will affect their lives, rather than what kind of person she is. Men are looking for someone who will make them happy, fulfill their sexual needs, and provide emotional support.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR LOT/WIVES HAPPY?
Seventhly, wives easily get jealous about their spouses talking to other women. This jealousy might be due to the insecurity of the wife or the husband’s lack of consideration for their spouse.
As a husband, you should not speak to other women in a flirtatious manner. and avoid eye contact and compliments.
Do not invite them over to your house and avoid mentioning them in front of your wife. Also, stay attentive and engaged with your wife during social occasions like parties, meetings, or outings to prevent complications that might arise due to your overdue attention.
LEARN ABOUT WOMANHOOD:
Eighthly, men can improve their understanding of womanhood by asking about what women want and need from them as friends and partners. They need to understand that women may not be as talkative as men, but they also know that they are strong, hardworking individuals who deserve respect.
Having a woman in your life is never easy, but it can be much more difficult for men. Some men are naturally better at understanding women than others are. But for those who are not, there are ways to improve the chances of getting along with them.
And Lastly, I would like to say that there are many ways that women are disadvantaged by patriarchal norms, but there are also ways in which men are disadvantaged by patriarchy.
One of these is that they’re often encouraged to think about their partners in terms of how they will affect their lives, rather than what kind of person she is. Men are looking for someone who will make them happy, fulfill certain needs, provide security/stability or companionship.
A relationship is a two-way street and both parties need to be invested and understanding of each other. Men can improve their understanding of womanhood by learning about the female anatomy and anatomy of the sexual organs.
They should also learn to listen to women’s thoughts and emotions, spend quality time with them, take care of themselves, stay healthy, be expressive in their feelings, play with children, and use the word “we” instead of “I” when referring to their spouse or partner.
Think about it. Until next time, stay safe and healthy.
Another mental health issue faced by teens is the thought of suicide that keeps occurring in their minds.
Since the coming of COVID and its effects, the lives of teens have changed a great deal.
The once lively teens are now more prone to think about dying or committing suicide. An alarming situation for the parents to tackle.
The fourth mental health issue is the concern regarding finances. Since the COVID has greatly struck businesses, the teens have this feeling of not having enough lurking over their heads which is overall affecting their health too.
The fifth mental health issue in teens relates to their diets, their eating habits.
Most teens have taken after the frenzy to become a skeleton, thanks to the wide use of social media and free knowledge of dangerous theories regarding weight sitting around to grasp some attention.
POOR HYGIENE LEVELS:
Yet, another mental issue related to teens consists of hygiene levels.
Not going to school or to places where the grooming element matters, the teens have taken tonight suits and pajamas, throwing away their basic habits of hygiene and getting ready every day.
INTEREST IN STUDIES:
The seventh mental health issue in teens deals with their lost interest in their studies.
Face-to-face classes were a sense of joy for many but many students used to the idea of classroom teachings cannot digest the idea of studying online.
Many excelling students have become a failure in their own eyes which is a great source of depression for them.
The eighth mental health issue in teens is the social isolation that they have faced for a long.
Most of the teens have become introverts, unable to communicate with anyone around or even barely speaking with family.
And Lastly, they no longer follow a pattern for sleeping. Most of them remain awake all night and use the tabs for watching programs or either listening to the music of their choice.
Many, many precious hours are going to waste due to these mental health issues.
In the end, I would say it is never late to find the source of each of these mental issues and treat them accordingly. The help of a psychiatrist/child counselor in a rightful manner can save many lives from going to waste.
Think about it. Until next time, stay safe and healthy.
